Subjects 6th and 7th Grade Physical Education
Class Rules
  • Be in assigned place/seat, ready to work when teacher gives cue.
  • Remain on task.
  • Bring all needed supplies daily. (Dress clothes, paper, pencil, etc.)
  • No cursing, rude gestures, put-downs, teasing or disruptive behavior.
  • Students are to be respectful to all teachers at all times and follow directions the first time.
  • Students must bring a change of clothing in order to be considered dressed out.
  • No epuipment or apparatus is to be used until supervised by a teacher.
  • Students will not deface lockers, shower stalls, walls, equipment, etc.
  • Gum chewing is prohibited.
  • No food or drinks in the gym or locker room.
  • No radios or tape players allowed.
  • No glass containers allowed in the locker room.
  • Student must furnish his/her own towel.
  • Students must remove all items from lockers on the last day of the week.
  • The locker room is not a play area. THINK SAFETY FIRST.
Grading System

Students will be graded in two categories: participation and written tests. Participation shall include dressing out, make-up work, and actual participation. Written tests will cover skill and knowledge of activities. Failure to dress out will result in a loss of 2 points and failure to participate will result in a loss of 3 points.

*Excused Participation/Excused Absence: make-up work will consist of a five paragraph essay on selected topics which include sports, fitness, nutrition and health. failure to complete the essay will result in a loss of 5 points.

*Unexcused absence: automatic loss of five points.

*Parental Notes: Please send if student needs to be excused from activities because of illness or injury. Prolonged illness/injury will require a doctor's note.

Personal Information

Coach Belton's hometown is Palatka, Florida. He attended Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Florida, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He has been teaching for 26 years. He taught in Broward County for five years, and the rest in Putnam County. Coach Belton's hobbies include coaching, fishing darts and socializing with friends.

Coach Belton's goal is to assist student development in the area of physical education by properly selecting and controlling motor activities which allow each student the opportunity to achieve the maximum physiological, psychological and sociological development.
